“With the recent declining economic momentum and increased uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, e-commerce is a strategic avenue our local businesses can explore to remain competitive,” states Sandy Engle, MCC Director of Business Development and Executive Director of the Fort Morgan Chamber of Commerce. “Economic forecasters are predicting a rise in e-commerce, and this presentation provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about the topic.”

According to online lead generation software company, OptinMonster, online shopping is growing so fast that the global market size is predicted to hit $4 trillion in 2020. The United States is expected to have 300 million online shoppers in 2023, which is nearly 91% of the country’s population.

The webinar’s presenter is nationally known marketing expert, Eric Shanfelt. Shanfelt is the founder and CEO of Local Marketing Institute. He has 25 years of experience in digital marketing and has served as the Chief Digital Officer for several consumer media companies.

This session will demonstrate how local businesses can get started with e-commerce and how to market products and services on a variety of platforms. Those familiar with e-commerce selling will also benefit by discovering new approaches to improve their efforts.

A few of the topics that will be covered include:
• Getting e-commerce to interact with a POS system
• Integrating with Google Merchant Center

• Placing products into Google Shopping via “Surfaces Across Google”
