Morgan Community College (MCC) is partnering with Centennial Area Health Education Center (CAHEC) to display a mental health exhibit, “Be Mindful, It Matters,” at the college’s Fort Morgan campus, 920 Barlow Road. This innovative and impactful exhibit will be on display in Spruce Hall from February 14 through March 11, 2024. A reception for the public will be held February 20, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Founders Room. The public is invited to view the exhibit while it is on campus.
In Colorado, the statistics are a stark reminder of the ongoing mental health crisis: 1 in 5 individuals are experiencing poor mental health, and 1 in 10 avoid seeking necessary support due to the prevailing stigma. CAHEC’s “Be Mindful, It Matters” exhibit seeks to change these troubling trends by providing an interactive, engaging, and educational experience.
The “Be Mindful, It Matters” exhibit provides an interactive journey into mental health awareness. Visitors can learn, engage, and connect with the experiences of fellow Coloradans. The exhibit aims to break down the barriers of stigma surrounding mental health through a combination of engaging visuals, informative content, and interactive features.
“This exhibit represents so much work and planning, and I appreciate the opportunity to host it at Morgan Community College,” said Dr. Curt Freed, MCC President. “This is an informative and interactive exhibit to raise awareness about mental health as well as increase knowledge of treatment and options available.”
This exhibit is an essential step towards building a more informed and supportive community in Colorado. MCC invites everyone to take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn and grow together in understanding mental health.
