Fort Morgan, CO 1/19/2021. Morgan Community College’s Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) is offering a virtual presentation, “Learning from Indigenous Peoples” with Jan Reynolds on January 26 from 6:30 PM-8:30 PM. Jan Reynolds is an author, photographer, and adventurer who lives in Vermont. In 1980, Reynolds became a record-holder for women’s high-altitude skiing, achieved on Tibet’s Muztagata mountain. Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Jan traveled alone throughout the Himalaya, Sahara, and Amazon Basin.
Reynolds lived among Tuareg, Tibetans, Saami, Aboriginals, Yanomama, Inuit and Mongol peoples to learn more about their cultures and viewpoints. She took a special interest in the roles of women within these cultures. Throughout these adventures, Reynolds discovered the similarities among different cultures and realized just how much we are all a part of the same human race.
Jan Reynolds is the author of the award-winning book series, Vanishing Cultures, which details her adventures, survival skills, and learning.
