Radiologic Technology

This program prepares students through quality education taught by industry experts in both small and large healthcare facilities for entry level positions.
Radiologic Technologists are employed in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, surgery centers, and free-standing imaging centers.
The need for Radiologic Technologists is expected to increase over the next 10 years with an average entry-level wage of $30 per hour nationwide. Graduates can add to their skills with post-primary certification in other diagnostic imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and mammography.

This full-time program consists of academic courses and internships that are taken throughout the 22-month program. Students will work with state-of-the-art equipment in multiple radiology departments in northeast Colorado, as well as older technologies to become a well-rounded professional.

After successful completion of the program requirements, students will earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree and are eligible to take the national certification examination through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

  • Hands-on experience with patients in Level I, II & III trauma centers
  • An “Anatomage” computerized dissection table to gain a better understanding of the human anatomy

Susan Meyer has worked in the radiology profession for over 40 years in multiple modalities such as CT, MRI, Mammography, Ultrasound, Cardio-Cath Labs, Interventional radiography, and working as a traveling X-ray technologist. She continues to work in the field due to her belief that the best way to understand the ever-changing technology is to work in the profession.

Susan started teaching at MCC in 2012 and has proudly graduated over 65 radiology students that have gone on to amazing healthcare careers as well as advancing their professional education in Radiation Therapy, MRI, CT, and Mammography.
