Morgan Community College (MCC) Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) invites the community to attend the annual Boulder International Film Festival on September 12, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Historic Sands Theatre, 211 Clayton Street, Brush, and will feature five short films and the opportunity to discuss film styles with MCC’s own film critic, Ewan Magie.
Included among the Festival’s screenings is the short film, The One Note Man, directed by George C. Siougas. This short film depicts a lonely bassoonist living his life meticulously, mired in routine. Each day, he plays a single note in an orchestra and leaves the rest to continue. One day, his exit is accidentally delayed, and he hears a breathtaking violin solo which changes his life forever. Additional films that will be featured include Yellow, Dead Cat, Bienvenidos A Los Angeles, and We Have Notes.
“Each year the Boulder International Film Festival shares a unique set of short films that delight the audience. This year continues that generous gifting from BIFF,” stated MCC CACE Coordinator, Suzanna Spears. “The short films remind us that in a very few minutes our perceptions of the world around us can be heightened, changed, and enriched due to the talents of these international film writers and directors. Don’t miss this year’s offerings!”
This local presentation of Boulder International Film Festival movies is free, due to generous donors who support the mission of CACE.
