Morgan Community College (MCC) Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) announces an abstract painting exhibit with artist Nikhi Aum. The exhibit will launch January 18, 2019 with an Artist’s Reception and Presentation from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the CACE Gallery of Fine Art located at 300 Main Street, Fort Morgan and run until February 21, 2019.
Nikhi Aum, an oil and acrylic artist currently residing in Phoenix Arizona, was born and raised in Bombay, India. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Ancient Indian Culture prior to moving to the United States. Her work depicts an emotional and spiritual response to the world, based on her experiences as a flight attendant, her travels across continents, and her interactions with different cultures.
Aum’s work has been displayed in the “Home” exhibit, an international juried show at University of Massachusetts, Amherst Fine Arts Center. The City of Seattle Office of Art and Culture selected Aums for their 2017-2018 Artist Roster. She was also a finalist in the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2018 wine label contest.
The Aum exhibit is a celebration of the artist’s passion as an Indian woman immigrant who has been able to blend the boundaries of East and West. Artwork will be available for purchase during the exhibit.
Admission to the CACE Gallery of Fine Art is free. To learn more about the variety of artistic, musical, and educational events sponsored by CACE throughout the year, visit www.morgancc.edu or call 970-542-3180.
