Is Concurrent Enrollment really FREE?
Yes! The only responsibility for you (the student) is to pay the fees (depending on the district) and any textbooks or supplies required for your course(s).

For Parents
Getting your child involved with Concurrent Enrollment (CE) has quite a few benefits, including:
- As a concurrent enrollment student, your child can save thousands off the cost of a 4-year university
- MCC’s Career & Tech options are hands-on, career-ready programs that gets students out of the traditional classroom to learn a skill or trade
- Class sizes at MCC average 8 student-to-teacher ratio
- Students experience college in a smaller, local setting that prepares them for the transition to a university

After High School Options
Bridge to Bachelor’s
Complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree at MCC through the Bridge to Bachelor’s Degree Program. Students in the program are then guaranteed admission to the participating four-year college or university upon completion of an Associate degree.
Promise Award
If you are a recent high school graduate (within the last 3 years) from MCC’s service area, you are eligible to receive up to $2,000 in guaranteed financial aid for full-time enrollment at MCC.
Sophomore Scholar
High school grads who have successfully completed (with a “C” or better) 30 credits of MCC college courses as high school student, are guaranteed grant/scholarships to pay for their sophomore year at MCC (up to 30 credits). Enroll at any MCC location, applications are due April 1st.

Sophomore Scholar - Eligibility Criteria
- Recent high school graduate that was enrolled with Morgan Community College during high school.
- Successful completion (C or better) of 30 or more credit hours with Morgan Community College and at least a 2.0 MCC cumulative grade point average at the time of high school graduation or no later than the semester immediately following high school graduation.
- Students must qualify for in-state resident status or be classified as an ASSET student. Applicants that do not meet in-state residency requirements may apply for other financial aid programs.
Sophomore Scholar - Documents Needed
- Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Students that are Colorado ASSET should submit the Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) at https://cdhestudentxprod.regenteducation.net/signin.Â
- Must submit any requested documentation (tax return, verification worksheet, etc.) by June 1 for May high school graduates and January 1, for December high school graduates, regardless of financial need.
- Morgan Community College Foundation application at https://morganccscholarships.awardspring.com/ by April 1.
- Must have applied for College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend.
Sophomore Scholar - Policies
- Eligible students will receive grant and/or scholarship funds (not a loan or work-study) to cover tuition and fees at MCC for an additional 30 credit hours of course work toward completion of their degree.
- On-campus, in-state tuition after College Opportunity Fund (COF) is applied rates only.
- Non-resident, WUE, online and nursing tuition differential rates are NOT eligible.
- Second or additional degrees not eligible for funding consideration.
- For program lengths longer than 60 credit hours, student will be responsible for cost of additional credit hours. Books are not included.
- Sophomore Scholars Program will only cover eligible charges for tuition and fees up to the cost of attendance (COA) that are not covered by Federal/State grants.
- This program is available for up to three academic semesters beginning the summer or fall semester after high school graduation. The scholarship with this program is no longer valid after the fall semester one-year after high school graduation (ex. graduate high school May 2025 – scholarship ends December 2026) or upon completion of 30 credits. This program does not apply to any credit hours needed during the summer to complete the 30-hour eligibility requirement. Any student who graduates from high school in mid-year is eligible to enroll in the spring semester if they meet stated student eligibility criteria.
- Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester unless less than six credits are needed to graduate at the end of the semester.
- All federal, state, and college rules and regulations regarding financial aid/scholarships apply to this program including MCC Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
- Students that qualify for both MCC Promise and Sophomore Scholars guarantees cannot receive both awards. Applicants that qualify for both will receive whichever award is highest in value (not to exceed tuition and fees). Sophomore Scholars can be combined with privately funded awards (MCC Foundation included).
