Fort Morgan, CO 9/29/2020. Morgan Community College (MCC) Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) will host two distinctly different presentations by Rodney Wood on October 8, 2020. The first event will begin at 3:00 PM in the parking area outside MCC’s Elm Hall, where Wood will describe the process of creating an artcar. The second presentation, starting at 6:30 PM in MCC’s Bloedorn Lecture Hall, is geared for the business community, and will focus on the topic of “Getting the Creative Juices Flowing” within work teams.
An “artcar” is a vehicle that has been imaginatively painted and modified as a means of artistic expression. During the 3:00 PM artcar presentation, Rodney Wood will share about the artcar movement, artcar festivals, and how to create artcars.
The 6:00 PM presentation will provide strategies businesses can use to inspire creative program development and problem solving within work teams. Participants will have the opportunity to practice and discuss techniques that have been used successfully by large corporations and small businesses.
Rodney Wood is considered by many as the ubiquitous “art guy” of many hats. His true passion lies in a life-long devotion to the arts. Born and raised in Colorado, Wood has also lived in diverse communities such as Breckenridge, San Francisco, Santa Fe, and Sedona. His art career includes gallery owner, bronze foundry worker, teacher, non-profit arts administrator, curator, preparator, and jewelry designer.
Wood also works as a consultant to large and small businesses to help them get “creative juices” flowing among their work teams.
Both CACE presentations are offered for free to the public through Golden Belt Bank’s Business in Excellence Series Endowment.
